These terms cover your use of this website and, once available, the Kanji Buddy app ("Kanji Buddy", "we", "us"). By using either, you agree to them.
The service
This website is a preview of Kanji Buddy, an app for learning Japanese kanji and kana, currently in development for iOS and Android. Pricing, availability, and feature details may change before launch.
Acceptable use
Use Kanji Buddy for personal, non-commercial learning. Don't attempt to extract, resell, or redistribute the app's content, or reverse-engineer the app beyond what's permitted by applicable law.
Intellectual property
Kanji Buddy's design, code, and branding are owned by us. Kanji and vocabulary definitions are derived from the JMdict and KANJIDIC2 dictionary files, maintained by the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group (EDRDG) and licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0.
No warranty
Kanji Buddy is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Kanji Buddy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app develops. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
